Axe. Marked in black ink with a find number by the excavator. From Buhen, the former ancient Egyptian fortress outpost in Lower Nubia (Sudan) that in 1964 was entirely submerged beneath the reservoir waters behind the Aswan High Dam. Egypt Exploration Society 1957-64 excavations, site no. cat. no. L10.72, Cat. no. 1637: found between the north colonnade and New Kingdom temple wall, near the surface. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Heavily corroded, fresh corrosion?, concretions.
