Barges, Whitstable

This watercolour is reminiscent of works by John Sell Cotman (1782-1842) and Richard Parkes Bonington (1802-1828) from the early 19th century. It is the latest of the Walker's Steer watercolours, showing the continued commitment in his watercolour painting to a loose and impresionistic style.
