This watercolour painting depicts the designs for two figures from the play 'Queen Victoria'. An inscription on the left below the figures reads 'Stockmar & Duchess of Kent'. The figure on the centre left of the page is male and the centre right female. They are depicted from the side on, as if walking beside each other. The male figure's costume features a white high-collar shirt below a dark red/brown cape down to the knee. The figure is wearing brown trousers and brown shoes. They have grey hair beneath a grey/black top hat. The female figure is wearing a grey dress with wide sleeves featuring a striped design. The skirt is wide with a two tier effect and a panel hanging over the front also features the striped design. The figure is wearing white/grey gloves and a white/grey hooded bonnet, tied in a bow below the chin.
