Rectangular piece of wood with two holes for supporting a standing model figure. Original use seems to have been a container as mitered corner fits against similar shaped piece 55.82.95. From Beni Hasan, cemetery below the Middle Kingdom rock-cut tombs: excavated by John Garstang of the Liverpool Institute of Archaeology, 1902-1904. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Some damage, surface dirt, frass in large holes?
