Bases for a Model Figures



Two rectangular pieces of wood with holes for supporting standing model figures. One with two holes is marked 363, the tomb number corresponding to a model figure emptying a sack or bucket (accession no. 55.82.44). One with one hole is marked with the number corresponding to a model figure of a man carrying a sack. From Beni Hasan, cemetery below the Middle Kingdom rock-cut tombs: excavated by John Garstang of the Liverpool Institute of Archaeology, 1902-1904.
