The Bass Rock

This watercolour was one of ten subjects, together with two title-page vignettes, which Turner produced to accompany Sir Walter Scott's text in 'The Provincial Antiquities and Picturesque Scenery of Scotland.' It was issued in parts between 1819 and 1826.
