Single wooden bed in Georgian style from cabin C97 (1st Class stateroom), RMS Olympic, c.1911. During the First World War, Olympic was converted to accomodate 6000 troops, but soldiers had mixed experiences with accomodation. Some enjoyed luxurious staterooms and slept in beds like this one. Many soldiers were packed in basic living quarters below decks.
