Large sized blue glazed faience figure of Bes. Head from above the nose missing. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Incomplete, chipped, surface dirt, pitted, surface loss, surface cracks. Wellcome Historical Medical Museum accession no. 9244; Purchased at Sotheby's, London, 21 July 1920 (Bryce sale), lot 25: "A Figure of Bes, 8 3/4 in. high, in blue glazed faience, the upper part of the head is missing; Roman period."
