Bill of Sale for enslaved boy, Jacob

Bill of sale by Anthony Smith of Georgetown, Washington, District of Columbia in the United States of America selling an enslaved boy, Jacob, aged sixteen or seventeen, to Nathan Childs of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland. The single folio leaf is written on both sides and stipulates that Jacob is sold for the sum of one hundred and twenty five dollars and is to be freed in 20 years. Signed by Anthony Smith before a magistrate on 10th July 1824.
