Bill Shankly's overcoat

Information

Bill Shankly, Liverpool FC’s longest serving manager 1959 to 1974, famously wore this coat on many occasions. He turned Liverpool around from a mid-2nd Division team to Champions within a few years and was manager when Liverpool won their first ever FA Cup in 1965; a momentous moment for the club. Prior to his television interview after his second victory in 1974, he handed over this coat to the producer and ordered him to take great care of the ‘expensive’ coat, which Shanks had bought in Rotterdam.
