Information

ID: A black and white photograph of a woman presenting a series of different wicker furniture for sale. The wall behind her reads: "Exhibition of work by the School for the Blind" and "All exhibits for sale". This photograph from 1949, shows a range of different items that were handmade by students at the Hardman Street School for the Blind. At this time, the school was a technical college, and taught its pupils trades including basket-weaving, brush-making and machine knitting. These wares were often sold to local people by the school.
