Information

A wide bowl with a ring base, an angular body and a circular rim. There are two small side upturned handles. The bowl has decoration of the White Painted I type with a creamy painted slip on both the exterior and the interior of the body. The paint is light to dark brown and the rim is painted both in and out. In the exterior body there is a medium size band on the mid wall. In the interior: one broad band on the upper wall, three thinner brown circular bands on the lower wall and an enclosed spiral on the floor. The clay is fine and buff with a few grits and unevenly fired medium hard. The slip is wet smoothed. The sides of the bowl are uneven and one large part of it has been restored.
