Information

Basin shaped bowl in reddish earthenware covered with brown slip and carved with scroll, fret and spider monkey figures. Made with a wooden mould. Near the end of the Classic period the Maya abandoned multi-coloured ceramics and began to use single colours almost exclusively - but they still moulded and carved the vessels elaborately.
