Bowl with incurved rim. Auction label adhered to the surface "1083/6" and MacGregor sale label. Marked with MacGregor collection number but only last two digits are clear (might be 5296). CONDITION NOTE 1998: Incomplete, previous repair, remnants of fill, chipped, pitted, surface dirt, labels adhered to surface. Purchased at Sotheby's, London, 26 June - 6 July 1922 (William MacGregor collection) Lot 1083/6: "A Kohl-Vase, in reddish-brown marble, 1 1/2 in. high, found at Esna in 1906; a Vase, with ovoid body, flat sessile lip and tubular handles, 1 3/4 in. high, in yellow marble with grey markings; an inverted pear-shaped Vase, in black marble with pinkish-white markings, 1 7/8 in. high, found at Zawaideh, 1907, Pre-dynastic; a Bowl, of globular form, in reddish-brown marble, 3/4 in. high; an Alabastron, in mottled reddish-brown marble, with three rudimentary car-handles, 1 3/4 in. high; and a Bowl, with incurved lip, in grey and white limestone, found at Reqaqnah, Tomb 40, 3rd Dynasty (see Garstang's "Tombs of the 3rd Dynasty," pl. VII p.25), imperfect."
