Bowl; sugar

LL 1188

Information

A white jasper sugar bowl, dipped in lilac, with applied white sprigging. The sugar bowl features some of Lady Elizabeth Templetown's (1747-1823) designs. The white stripes are produced by removing the top lilac layer. Wedgwood developed this technique using an engine turning lathe. This sugar bowl is part of a larger set, complete with tray. See LL 1187, LL 1189 to LL 1192.
