Information
A base for a boat-shaped waka huia (treasure box), with humanoid heads at each end attached in two places (neck and back of head). All carved decoration is on the outside. The main design elements are koru (bulbed hook shapes) superimposed on rauponga (several parallel ridges and grooves with a notched ridge in between) running lengthways and diagonally along the base.
