Bracelet with serrated bar stamp

Information

Broad-band arm-ring or bracelet decorated with serrated bar stamp. Penannular, with punched ornament; complete. Bent in half and flattened, it tapers strongly from an expanded mid-portion to irregularly rounded terminals. The outer face is carefully ornamented with a row of closely spaced, vertical (transverse) bar-stamping, formed with a punch with a raised median line and finely serrated edges, to either side of a central diagonal cross comprising four impressions, and terminating at both ends with a diagonal cross followed by two further vertical impressions. In each of the angles of the central cross is a triangle-on-rectangle (‘dagger-shaped’) individual stamp, having three pellets within the triangle. Discovered as part of the Huxley Hoard.
