Bracelet with unfinished serrated bar stamp

Broad-band arm-ring or bracelet decorated with serrated bar stamp unfinished. Penannular, with an unfinished arrangement of punched ornament; complete. Bent in half and flattened, it tapers strongly from the mid-portion to rounded terminals. The central area of the outer face is ornamented with a diagonal cross, its angles closed by a stamp on each side, formed with a punch with a median line and serrated edges; one side is left plain, while the other side features a short row of vertical (transverse) and oblique bar-stamping, haphazardly executed and with some over-striking, formed with the same punch. Traces of hammering are visible on the unornamented sections of this face. Discovered as part of the Huxley Hoard. Width 9mm (min) - 18mm (max) Height 5mm (min) - 18mm (max) Thickness 2mm
