Bracelets

M11556

Information

Pair of ribbed penannular bracelets of silver (or electrum?). Described in 1835 as "taken from a female mummy at Thebes". Dating is uncertain but they can be compared with two ribbed bracelets of gold from a Middle Kingdom tomb at Abydos (el Arabah) in John Garstang, 'El Arabah' (London, 1915), p. 4, pl. I (tomb 108). Prof. Percy Newberry dated them as New Kingdom; and exhibited in 1931 as Late Period by the Egypt Exploration Society.
