Round brooch of the type conventionally known as a 'saucer brooch'. One of the brooches found in a a female grave at Filkins, Oxfordshire. The body is set deep and there is repousse decoration: one external ring filled with small lines followed by five semi circular designes, The central design is of a star with a circular ring and a dot in the middle of the star. The edges of the brooch have a green colour and are bent in certain areas. At the back there are two hidges with their edges broken and set high at the back of the brooch. The backplate is missing.
