Information

Gold fibula ad arco. Fragmentary fibula constructed of gold sheet has a rectangular bow and traces of a folded sheet forming a nearly rectangular catch; round in cross-section at the spring end (spring and much of pin missing; the pin remaining is broken off). Decoration in filigree of plain and twisted wire: parallel twisted and plain wires covering the bow, patterns of spiral and circular wire on the catch. The distal end of the catch appears very worn, as if from use. STOLEN FROM HUMANITIES GALLEY IN MAY 1989 - NOT RECOVERED.
