Brush pot, cylindrical body, with four medallions painted in famille verte enamels with scenes from romance and folklore; in one is the story of the Spinning Maiden meeting the Ox-herd. The background incised with key fret pattern, and coloured yellow. On underside a sunk medallion in centre. The myth of the Spinning Maiden who crosses the Milky Way once a year to visit her lover, the Ox-herd, is a romance of the stars.
