The documents are part of the Bryson Collection, purchased by National Museums Liverpool in 1978 from the collector Joe Bryson. It is not known how the papers came into his hands. The documents relate to the Ismay family of White Star Line and Oceanic Steam Navigation Company. They are roughly listed, see the attached catalogue or contact The Archives Centre for a copy of the list. The collection includes: Accounts of J Bruce Ismay with the Oceanic Steam Navigation Company, 1908-1912. Papers re the destruction of Thomas H Ismay's papers. Correspondence re the tomb and commemorative stained glass window of Thomas H Ismay [?]. Items relating to Dawpool House, Thurstaston, Wirral. Shipping agreements with J P Morgan, 1902. Insurance papers re family jewellery, life insurance, property etc. Sale of Haselbech Hall, Northants. Arbitration documents C F Bell and T H Ismay, 1895-1896.
