Burnisher. Rectangular with rounded short ends. One short end chipped. CONDITION NOTE (1998): surface dirt and pitted. Purchased by Mr Wilkes for Sir Henry Wellcome at Sotheby's London, 26 June - 6 July 1922 (MacGregor collection) Lot 1118: "Three flat implements, perhaps for burnishing, 3 7/8 in, 3 1/8in and 3 1/4 in long, in greenish slate and black basalt, all found at Gourneh; also a grey basalt Implement of oblong form with a blunt edge on one of the longer sides, 31/8 in long by 1 in wide, found at Gizeh".
