Candlestick element

Crown segment from a candelabrum. Single cast segment, the four branched crown from a large candelabrum. Flat, circular section to fit over shaft, four curved, rising branches set off with ball mouldings and terminating in flat lotus flower tips, the "stamen" cold hammered (probably) into a spike to impale an upright wax candle. This segment is intact, corroded black green, but the remainder of its candelabrum is apparently missing; a triangular section in relief marks the transition from “stem” to “lotus flower.”
