Caricature, with Two Women

This drawing in inscribed 'Albert R' and was originally thougth to be by Rothenstein's younger brother Albert Rutherston (1881 - 1953) who was also an artist. However the inscription appears to be in the same hand as that which appears on the back of a drawing entitled Caricature of Rothenstein, Robert Steele and two other men' by Rutherston (WAG 6280). Both were probably added by Dr Robert Steele (previous owner of both works) at a later date. This drawing and 'Caricature of a Man' (WAG 6283) also by Rothenstein, were probably made from the same sketch book.
