This watercolour painting depicts the costume design for a female figure from the play 'Queen Victoria'. The figure is identified as Caroline Penny through an inscription below. They are stood with one hand down and one hand raised to their chest. The costume features a wide cream skirt with pink and blue stripe detailing, a green bodice and a large white frilled collar with a brooch in the centre. The figure is also wearing a white pinnafore apron. Her light brown hair is styled up in a victorian fashion which features tighly coiled large ringlets.
