Cartouche Plaque

On display

A green glazed faience plaque in the form of 3 cartouches, with plumed disks on the top. The two outer cartouches contain a ribbed leaf pattern and the central cartouche contains hieroglyphs in raised relief. The handle at the back is broken off. Pierced with six holes. It has been suggested the plaque is possibly a funerary urn label or a stamp seal. Glaze has erroded in most places and surface dirt in places.
