Cartouche Plaque (Forgery)

Forgery of an ancient Egyptian antiquity acquired by Sir Henry Wellcome in 1930. White label stuck to the surface with printed text: "Lot 238"; on this is trace of another number 14380. Purchased at Stevens’ Auction Rooms Ltd., London, 2 September 1930 Lot 238. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Worn, pitted, chipped, surface dirt.
