Carved animal head with open jaws. Has been described as a handle. Date uncertain. Loose piece from the top of the head. Roman Period or earlier? CONDITION NOTE (1998): Incomplete, sellotape and label on surface, surface dirt, split. Wellcome Historical Medical Museum accession number 78252: HANDLE. Bone, finely carved in form of dolphin's head. (Has been broken and repaired). 3 7/8" X 2 ¾". Egyptian. Purchased at Sotheby's, London 12 November 1928 Lot 347.
