Carving

Humanoid figure carved in wood in the half-round. It has its three-fingered hands placed on its stomach and a beaked mouth with broad protruding tongue. The eyes are round and the left eye is shell-inlaid. The surface decoration is rauponga (several parallel ridges and grooves with a notched ridge in between) on the legs and taratara-a-kai (notched zigzags between ridges) on the chest and head.
