Carving / Lotus Boss with Historical Buddha

A carved wooden lotus (several petals are broken) on a thick stalk (longer than the other three), in the centre of which is the Historical Buddha with both hands resting in his lap. The carving appears to have been part of a large architecture feature or altar space as the lotus has the appearance of a wall boss that would protrude from the wall. There are tool marks were the stem is broken.
