Chamaeleo chamaeleon (Linnaeus, 1758)



Body laterally compressed with tall, narrow head with large protruding eyes, the rear of the head has a triangular bony helmet. The feet are modified for grasping with two outer and three inner toes on the front limbs, with a reverse arrangement on the hind limbs. Colour varies according to emotional and physical state of the animal and may be grey, green or brown, with or without spots or longitudinal stripes on the flanks. Total length 20-30 cm
