Christ Being Shown to the People

WAG 1995.335

Information

A pen and ink drawing over a multitude of black chalk lines depicting the scene of "Ecce Homo." Christ is 'shown' to people on the way to his execution by a soldier who violently thrusts his head over the balustrade to the people below. Christ's hands are bound together with a rope. Under the final ink strokes, various black chalk lines are visible, indicating Tiarini's attempts at various compositions.
