Glass lantern slide by unknown photographer, 1908. Image shows the Royal Navy cruiser HMS Gladiator in dry dock at Portsmouth. Gladiator was involved in a collision in April 1908 with the International Navigation Company liner, St Paul, off Yarmouth, Isle of Wight. After assessment Gladiator was deemed unfit for further service.
