Fragment of woollen cloth. Ground: natural wool. Colours: natural, white, green, red, dull red-purple. Motif: Lotus scallop border in red-purple and white end bands of interlaced octagons, enclosed white motifs. Central band continuous octagons enclosing hare/debased animal, or wreath border enclose red field with four green and white spots. Two elongated octagons enclose two human figures. Possibly very debased Adam & Eve in green, white and red. Small motifs of joined birds and occasional human head. Technique: Tapestry woven ground, using curved weft, built up shapes, slits, interlaced motifs woven over surface. 

Ends per inch 24; Picks per inch 96 approx.

CONDITION: Holed and frayed.
