Square medallion. Ground: tapestry oval double linen warp. Colours: white, indigo, red, yellow, green. Motif: pomegranate border enclosing circular motifs in green, indigo, yellow and white on red ground. Central figure of St. George on horseback in red, yellow and white. Technique: tapestry using built-up shapes, slits, curved weft, dovetailing, some outlines in soumak. Ends per inch 48 used double; Picks per inch 144 approx. CONDITION: Frayed, worn.
