Coffee pot

Jasper in four colours is extremely rare. This piece was perhaps made to appeal to collectors of old Wedgwood in the 19th century. From 1860 onwards there was a strong market for 18th century jasperware, and the Wedgwood factory set out to copy it as closely as possible. The shape of the coffeepot dates from about 1790.
