Fragment of painted cartonnage pierced with holes around the edge. This is one half of a footboard of a cartonnage mummy case (compare with British Museum EA 36378). On one straight edge fibre string is still threaded through the holes. The outer side is painted white with decoration in red including hieroglyphic text arranged in columns with standing mummiform figure of a jackal headed deity. The other side is plain.
CONDITION NOTE (1998): Incomplete, one fragment nearly broken away, cracked in places, black residue on one side, surface dirt, fibres unravelling.
