Information

Wood fragment painted with a hieroglyphic inscription containing the cartouche of Amenhotep. There are two tenon holes on either side. Probably the fragment of a coffin or some other burial equipment such as a canopic box. Purchased at Sotheby's 1906, 19-21 December (Robert de Rustafjaell collection) lot 146/16. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Incomplete, black residue on base, label adhered, worn, surface dirt.
