Coffin Fragment

Wood fragment incised with the cartouche of Amenhotep. Probably the fragment of a coffin or some other burial equipment such as a canopic box. Purchased at Sotheby's 1906, 19-21 December (Robert de Rustafjaell collection) lot 146/16. See The Egypt Centre W1319 for a similar obejct from the same source. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Incomplete, dry, splitting, worn, label adhered.
