Fragment of a painted coffin panel painted on one side with signs of the zodiac (Taurus, Gemini and Cancer) and on the other Osiris seated on a throne flanked by standing deities. Described by Charles Gatty as "Fragment of a wooden coffin, painted - of the Roman Period. On one side figures of Osiris, Isis, and the Genii Kabhsenuf and Hapi holding sashes. On the other side the zodiacal signs, Taurus, Gemini and Cancer - also stars. Dr Birch considered this about the time of Trajan". CONDITION NOTE (1998): Incomplete, dry, old infestation, surface loss, surface dirt, cracked surface, some discolouration.
