Coffin fragment, painted inscription in red and black in nine columns. Aylward Blackman was Brunner Professor of Egyptology at the University of Liverpool between 1948 and 1956. Between 1912 and 1920 he spent five fieldwork seasons at Meir, recording the rock-cut tombs in this part of Middle Egypt, from where this object was collected. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Incomplete, very dry and splitting, red pigmentation is faded, surface dirt.
