Coffin Fragment

Fragment from a long side of a rectangular shaped coffin. Painted striped horizontal border with row of hieroglyphic inscription above that reads, "Osiris Lord of Djedu". Marked by the excavator with the tomb number "53". From Beni Hasan, cemetery below the Middle Kingdom rock-cut tombs: excavated by John Garstang of the Liverpool Institute of Archaeology, 1902-1904.
