Information

A small fragment of a wooden coffin with traces of stucco at the edges and peg holes. On one side are seven vertical columns of hieroglyphs roughly written in black ink. On there is part of the decoration, traces of blue pigment within black outlines, the wood is also much smoother on this side. The text on the right side of the fragment belongs probably to the beginning of Pyramid Text spell 32, a classical libation spell. On the left side is Pyramid Text spell 25. This is the earliest attestation of the two as a combined spell. From Beni Hasan tomb 420. The cemetery below the Middle Kingdom rock-cut tombs: excavated by John Garstang of the Liverpool Institute of Archaeology, 1902-1904.
