Sherd of pottery (ostracon) used as a writing surface with ten lines of Coptic text written on one side. Wellcome Historical Medical Museum accession no. 21535; purchased at Sotheby's, London, 23 February 1920 lot 126 (Mrs Charlotte Cameron FRGS collection). CONDITION NOTE 1998: Pitted, surface dirt, residue of old label at the back, surface loss.
