Cosmetic container tube shape, made from heavy straight section of tusk. Collected by Rev. William Frankland Hood on one of his visits to Egypt between 1851 - 1861.
CONDITION NOTE (1998): Splitting, previous repair, areas of loss, scratched, discolored.
Wellcome Historical Medical Museum accession no. 30981: One ivory cylinder, probably a tool handle, 4" long. With hole pierced through. Has been broken & repaired. Pieces missing; Purchased at Sotheby's, London, 11 November 1924 (Hood collection), Lot 150/15.
