Speckled pink granite cosmetic vessel. Flat based, footed, small shoulder, constricted neck with wide flaring rim. Lid is missing. On the base there is an illegible four digit number in ink on a white paper label with blue border (maybe 2471). Purchased at Sotheby's, London, 26 June - 6 July 1922 (MacGregor Collection) Lot 1080/5: "Four kohl-vases, one with lid, in brown marble, 1 3/8 in. high, found at Esna in 1908; one in pinkish marble with black markings, 1 5/8 in. high; one in a semi-transparent green stone, 2 in. high; and the fourth in black basalt, 1 5/8 in. high".
