Information

Flat based shouldered kohl jar with constricted neck and wide flat rim. Blackened limestone, used in combination with white incised decoration. Decoration of simple linear pattern around the body of the pot and a schematised floral design on the lid, typical of pots from the reigns of Hatshepsut and Thutmose III. One of the previous owners, Amy Urlin, assisted W. M. F. Petrie on his excavation of the cemetery at Abydos in 1901, which may have been the source of this object.
