Cosmetic Vessel

Jar with flat base, made of polished and mottled toffee brown coloured indurated limestone with red pebble inclusion. John Garstang's label says "Abydos. Royal Tombs". Garstang was working at Abydos in 1900 for the Egyptian Research Account and Petrie was excavating the Royal Tombs in 1899-1900 so this may be when Garstang acquired the object from Petrie.
